Meet Meg

My discovery of Real Estate came after a long career in education, both as a student and as a teacher/administrator. I hold degrees in Mount Holyoke College and Ohio University plus teacher certifications from Seattle University. I have taught in public and private schools, special education, and accelerated classes. I even tried to start a Charter School.

Real Estate was supposed to be my pre-retirement career; just something to do, a way to make enough money to offset losses from the Charter School. Living in Skaneateles, Real Estate seemed to be everyone’s “hobby”. It was my favorite section of the Sunday paper, and I loved walking my dogs in the village and looking at the listings.

This became serious. Why not do something in a field I really love, one that gave me independence, and as my husband said, didn’t hold me back. I threw myself into Real Estate and within a couple of years I was earning awards and enjoying the work immensely.

Fifteen years later, I still love it. I started at Gallinger (now Realty USA) and then moved to REMAX where I achieved their Hall of Fame. Along the way I started a blog, SkaneatlesRealEstateNews.blogspot.com. I love writing and when there is time, I use it on the blog to quantify and analyze listings and sales in Skaneateles and surrounding communities. For a long time, I worked with Welch Allyn employees, helping with their relocation to the area. I am not back to Genesee Street through Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices CNY Realty. Real Estate is my career, not one that I doubt I will ever fully leave.
